The Ethos ROR Program: maximize quality and raise productivity and profits.
Laying the groundwork
First we identify as many expectations as possible currently at work in the effort to find and on-board executives at the client company. Once these are articulated, we then examine the best way to effect change in the ROR process, where change needs to be made. We determine which improvements need to be made and why. We then design how these improvements can be made successfully. This gives us a blueprint for successful implementation of The ROR Program from the start.
Now we are in a position to address important tactical issues:
- How to define the job accurately and identify candidates efficiently
- How to evaluate candidates insightfully and close them with integrity
- How to match client and candidate expectations at the moment of hire
- Retention - improving the new hire's value in place and developing a loyal core of managers
It is vital to appreciate that there is a continuum of positive effects as a person evolves from being a candidate to a new hire to a successful veteran. All too often the excellent groundwork that can be laid with a candidate is forfeited when the candidate becomes a new hire. New people come into the picture and old supporters disappear. New hires at a senior level seldom have the benefit of a systematic orientation and grace period. The expectations generated when the candidate was recruited might not be reinforced when the candidate is in the job and the realities of the job set in. Without the continuity of expectations, goal setting can become difficult. Without guidance, the new hire may miss the chance to go in the optimal direction to be successful and valuable to the company.
Key issues Ethos is prepared to help a client company with as it works to retain its best executives and improve the new hire's value in place include:
- Coaching in the context of the expectations
- Coaching on how to assimilate
- Dealing with a new environment
- Assessing the organization's business, management team, and culture
- Developing a 100 day plan that keys on making a difference
- Setting new goals and vision
- Reinforcing communication skills to help the new hire become visible
- Developing relationships with key stakeholders
- Developing an effective network to optimize getting feedback
Ethos has been intimately involved in all of the ROR efforts described above, and more. We have 23 years of experience in helping companies successfully recruit and on-board executives. We want to share the value of this experience to help companies integrate new hires more effectively and realize more benefits and more profits when making these efforts.
